MADRID Brad Marchand Bruins Jersey , April 1 (Xinhua) - Three fishermen are dead and two are missing after a collision between two ships close to the mouth of the estuary of the River de Vigo in the northwest of Spain on Tuesday.


The collision was between a small fishing boat, the Mar de Marin, and a transport vessel which was carrying vehicles built in the Citroen car factory in Vigo.


It took place at around 3am (0200GMT) in an area close to the Cies Islands as the Mar de Marin was sailing into Vigo in order to unload its catch.


The details of the accident were confirmed by the Mayoress of Marin, Maria Ramallo on Spanish National Radio


The transport ship, the Baltic Breeze is a roll-on roll-off vessel Tuukka Rask Bruins Jersey , 164 meters long which flies under the Singapore national flag, nobody on board of the Baltic Breeze suffered any injury


Although the cause of the accident has yet to be confirmed, it is thought unlikely to have been provoked by the bad weather in the region.


Spanish Maritime Rescue received an emergency call at around 3am, alerting of the accident, which caused the 27 meter long Mar de Marin to quickly sink provoking the three deaths.


One of the victims has been confirmed as being from Ghana Patrice Bergeron Bruins Jersey , another from Morocco, while the remaining confirmed casualty and the two fishermen who are missing are all Spanish.


Two helicopters are taking part in the search, along with two Maritime Rescue vessels and a series of boats from the Civil Guard, while local fishing craft are also helping to search for their companions.


Meanwhile the bodies of the confirmed victims have been taken to the nearby port of Vigo.


This is the second tragedy to hit the fishing industry in the north of Spain in less than a month and follows on from the sinking of another fishing boat, the 'Santa Ana' from the neighboring region of Asturias on March 10 with the loss of six lives.
