NEW DELHI Blue Jays Joe Carter Jersey , Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Two senior Indian sports officials have been arrested by the police from two separate places in Glasgow late Saturday evening, local media reported Sunday.


The two officials are the secretary general of the Indian Olympic Association, Rajeev Mehta and wrestling referee Virender Malik.


Both of them were arrested on charges of alleged assault -- one from the Glasgow city center and the other from the west of the city, a spokeswoman for Scotland Police was quoted as saying.


Both are currently in Scotland for the Commonwealth Games.


The Indian High Commission in London said: "We have learnt about the detention of two members of the Commonwealth contingent by the local (Glasgow) police. Our consulate in Edinburgh has deputed an official to Glasgow to keep in close touch with the police to ascertain full facts of the case."
